At The Handbag Spa, we will deliver a high quality service with a 2 week turnaround time working personally with your handbag from start to finish.

Judy Bass ‘The Queen of Leather’ has worked in the Leather Care Industry for over twenty years and is accepted in the marketplace as a leader, she trains and mentors Leather and Handbag technicians from around the world. The Handbag Spa is the original and longest established handbag cleaning and restoration company with workshops in the delightful Spa town of Harrogate. Over the years The Handbag Spa have successfully restored many thousands of handbags and currently work with leading designers and brands who recommend our services.

We Use The Best Products

The Handbag Spa use a very special in house range of cleaning, repair and restoration products specifically formulated for us by leather and fabric technologists to produce the best results for your handbag.  We also have a unique and exciting range of care products that can be used at home to keep your handbag looking at its best.

Our Secure Service

We use a fully tracked and insured collection and delivery service to get your handbag safely to and from our workshops. The courier service is FREE for every order over £200.00 within the UK but we also restore handbags from all over the world including USA, Australia, and Europe.

Our Services

Cleaning

Cleaning your handbag requires in depth knowledge of leather and fabrics to ensure the best results. Handbags carry many germs and bacteria (more than a toilet!) so very special antibacterial products (tested by Initial Hygiene Services) are used to ensure your handbag is clean and healthy again

Ink Removal

Ink is, unfortunately, a very common problem! We guarantee to remove ink from leather but the results on suede and fabrics can vary

Stain Removal

Some stains can be dealt with very easily particularly on leather but others, (such as a carton of orange juice or a pint of Guinness) may require more specialist treatment. Results on fabric and suede can vary

Colour Restoration

Our expert colour mixologists ensure that your colour restoration is carried out to match the original of the handbag. Restoring the colour of your handbag will give it a great new lease of life

Corner & Edging Repair

Unfortunately, corners on handbags do get very worn over time however, our expert leather restorers will repair these using our specialist fillers and processes to make them match the original.

Colour Change

Give your handbag a completely new lease of life and give it the WOW factor again.

Restyle a tired looking pale colour to a darker colour.

Mould Removal

Mould does happen! Often caused by incorrect storage but also from accidents and even being left in a hedge after a robbery!

Edging once worn can make your handbag look very untidy. We can replace the edging with our specialist edging colours which will give your handbag a whole new lease of life.

Your bag is fully insured during its treatment at The Handbag Spa against loss or accidental damage. Our couriers are all fully insured during transit.

The processes on your handbag are all carried out to the highest level, using the appropriate professional products. After your bag has been returned to you we will recommend the correct ongoing care products for you to use. In the unlikely event that there is a problem with your bag after treatment we will happily take the bag back in for assessment within the first 6 months providing the correct care treatment has been used. If at any time The Handbag Spa feel that the incorrect care of the bag has led to any subsequent problems we reserve the right to charge for extra work involved.

Yup! We clean and repair all manner of leather and fabric items, including: purses, wallets, pochettes, cosmetic bags, shoes, leather jackets, leather trousers and leather skirts to name a few. Contact the team for more information.

The turnaround time varies depending on the chosen treatments. We’re currently working on an estimated 10 working days basis.

You will be kept informed via automated emails, as your item works its way through each stage. You can call the office at any point for an update quoting your item number.

All items sent into The Handbag Spa are reviewed by one of our trained technicians upon arrival. A member of the team will then call you to discuss their recommendations and confirm the work with yourself. If the chosen treatments at this point involve a difference in the price, this will be adjusted.

Although our HQ is based in the UK, we do clean and restore handbags for EU and international customers too.

If you would like to ship an item into The Handbag Spa, we ask that you make clear on any customs applicable paperwork that the item is coming into the UK for repair & restoration work only and that it will be shipped back to yourself when complete.

Unfortunately, The Handbag Spa cannot be held responsible for any customs paperwork which has been filled out incorrectly and items which are therefore held up in customs. Feel free to contact the team for further advice.

It is also important to include a cover letter with your contact name, number, email and a suitable return address inside the package. If you would like an estimate before sending your item in, you can email photos across to our technical department on info@thehandbagspa.com

Although our HQ is based in the UK, we do clean and restore handbags for EU and international customers too.

At this time, we don’t offer a courier collection service outside of mainland UK, so we recommend sending in items yourself via a courier of your choosing.

We recommend that you package your item up securely in a box, which fits your item comfortably.
Use bubble wrap or tissue paper to cover your item and help to ensure minimum movement during transportation.
It is not necessary to include dust covers.
When sending in, we ask that you clearly write our company name and address on the outside. Which is as follows:

Yup, we do sell and ship products internationally and do so on a daily basis!

You can pay for The Handbag Spa services and products online using our checkout service or over the phone. We can also send secure Paylinks via WorldPay for online payments.
Please note, no payment is due to directly to the Parcelforce courier who collects or delivers your item as booked through The Handbag Spa.

Full payment is due prior to the start of any work on your handbag.
